The threat to Venezuela is a threat to the entire region

The threat currently looming over Venezuela, as a result of the irrational U.S. military deployment in the Caribbean, also represents a danger to the region and all of Latin America, which has been declared a Zone of Peace since 2014.
This was denounced by Cuba before the second session of the Standing Committee of the Forum for the Freedom of Nations, held in Sochi, Russia, in which a delegation from the Communist Party of Cuba participated, led by Emilio Lozada García, head of the International Relations Department of the Central Committee.
In addition to reiterating the support of the largest of the Antilles for Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and the popular-military-police merger, Lozada García condemned the direct aggression that also constitutes the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. government on Cuba, a genocidal policy expressly rejected in the final declaration of the Forum, which brought together representatives of more than 60 political parties from the Global South.
In another session, called BRICS Europe, he stressed that strengthening this mechanism is essential for achieving a new international order that is fair, democratic, and equitable.
The unity and defense of Our America requires a hemispheric summit without exclusions

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba expresses its deep concern and rejection of the decision imposed by the United States government on the Dominican Republic to exclude three countries, including Cuba, from the 10th Summit of the Americas, to be held on December 4 and 5 in Punta Cana.
This decision constitutes a clear capitulation to the brutal unilateral pressure exerted by the US Secretary of State.
The exclusion of several countries would consolidate the historical regression of this summit system and make it impossible for Latin America and the Caribbean to engage in a respectful and productive exchange with the imperialist power that is once again using the “gunboat diplomacy” and the Monroe Doctrine against our region.
If this decision persists, subordination and submission to the voracious and expansionist neighbor will prevail, threatening regional peace, security, and stability in open defiance of the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace and a community of independent and sovereign states exercising self-determination, in unity based on diversity.
As President Miguel Díaz-Canel stated in February 2025, “Today, the United States government seeks to define the options for the countries of the region, which are: either submit or be subjected to aggression.”
It should be remembered that this exclusion would ignore the progress made at previous Summits, in which Cuba’s participation was a milestone, and would disregard the almost unanimous protest of the region, expressed forcefully at the failed Los Angeles Summit, with the absence of several Heads of State and Government, and in the voice of 18 Heads of State and Government and 11 Foreign Ministers.
A Summit of the Americas built on exclusion and coercion is doomed to failure. There can be no serious talk of “political dialogue” between Our America and the United States on the basis of censorship and exclusion, inequality and abuse.
We reiterate our willingness to engage in respectful and constructive dialogue, on conditions of sovereign equality and without exclusions.
Speaking at the 7th Summit of the Americas, held in Panama in April 2015, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz stated: “Hemispheric relations, in my opinion, must change profoundly, particularly in the political, economic, and cultural spheres, so that, based on international law and the exercise of self-determination and sovereign equality, they focus on the development of mutually beneficial ties and cooperation to serve the interests of all our nations and the objectives that are proclaimed.”
Ten years later, hemispheric relations have not changed in essence.

Madam President,
The United States government has once again blocked, through its abuse of the veto privilege in the Security Council, the efforts of the international community to put an end to the massacre perpetrated by Israel in Gaza. It thus confirms its historical complicity with the occupying power and guarantees impunity for genocide, extermination, ethnic cleansing, collective punishment, and apartheid, all of which are crimes against humanity.
Far from contributing to international peace and security, which is the very purpose of that UN body, it contributes through its veto to the perpetuation of Zionist barbarism against the Palestinian people and is also responsible for it.
It calls into question the supposed intention of fair mediation to reach a permanent and lasting ceasefire agreement. The sustained political, military, logistical, and financial support of the United States for Israel is a clear expression of the double standards and bias that characterize U.S. policy.
So too are the recent visit to Israel by the U.S. Secretary of State in support of the crime, and the intention to silence the voice of our Palestinian brothers and sisters in this universal forum. The unilateral and arbitrary decision to revoke and deny visas to members of the Palestinian delegation, which prevented their proper participation in the High-Level Segment of the 80th Session of this General Assembly, violates the 1947 Headquarters Agreement.
Fifteen Palestinians die every day from malnutrition, 12 of them children, hostages of a colonial operation, settlement and forced displacement from the territory that belongs to them. It is estimated that at least 132,000 children under the age of 5 suffer from acute malnutrition and more than 43,000 are at risk of dying. The total number of confirmed deaths due to Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip alone since October 7, 2023, stands at 66,148, with an additional 168,716 wounded and maimed.
It is unacceptable that Israel continues to use hunger, food distribution, and humanitarian aid as weapons of war. Depriving a besieged civilian population of water, electricity, medicine, and fuel is not a military strategy, but a crime against humanity, collective punishment, and genocide.
The Israeli government’s disregard for the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, international law, international humanitarian law, and the international community’s calls for peace has also guided its attacks on other countries in the Middle East, such as Lebanon, Syria, Iran, and Yemen. The most recent case, the violation of the sovereignty of the State of Qatar, a nation that has played a constructive role in mediation efforts, is yet another example of the Zionist regime’s aggression against neighboring states.
An immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces are urgently needed. Israel must allow sufficient humanitarian aid to enter without conditions or restrictions and must authorize the indispensable work of UNRWA.
Cuba reaffirms its commitment and support for the Palestinian cause and reiterates its firm condemnation of the genocide perpetrated by Israel in Gaza, with the aim of exterminating or expelling the population of that occupied territory.
It reaffirms its conviction that only through a two-state solution, with the creation of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state within the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, guaranteeing the right of return for refugees, can a just and lasting peace be achieved.
The agreements and commitments reached during the High-Level International Conference on the Implementation of the Two-State Solution must be implemented without delay.
It is time to admit Palestine as a full member of this Organization. If the Security Council, powerless in the face of the abuse of the irritating privilege of the veto, persists in imposing itself as an obstacle to that aspiration, this General Assembly, as the most universal and representative body of the international community, must declare that right unequivocally and single out those who prevent it with the utmost political rigor.
The General Assembly can do more. The Assembly has the power to declare Israel’s genocide and apartheid for what they are: crimes against humanity. It can urge Member States to impose an arms embargo on Israel and exclude that country from participation in international organizations and conferences under the auspices of the United Nations.
It must demand the opening of all border crossings, entry points, and humanitarian corridors to ensure safe and unrestricted humanitarian access under the direct supervision of the UN, and urge States in a position to do so to provide humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian population.
To that end, in light of other proposals and the impotence of the Security Council, a resumed session of the 10th emergency special session of the General Assembly must be convened urgently, at which a comprehensive set of measures can be analyzed and approved by majority vote to put an end to the inaction of the United Nations.
The Palestinian cause is not only a pending political issue, it is the litmus test for the credibility of the multilateral system, it is the litmus test for the UN’s ability to defend the purposes and principles for which it was founded, precisely on the 80th anniversary of its creation.

Cuba will support the Bolivarian nation with its signature

Starting today and continuing through the 30th of this month, all workplaces, student centers, and communities will open the signature books for the process of supporting the Cuban Revolutionary Government’s Declaration: “It is urgent to prevent a military aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.”
This initiative, announced by Roberto Morales Ojeda, a member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Party’s Central Committee, during his recent meeting in Caracas with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Moros, will be a demonstration of support from the Cuban people for the Bolivarian Revolution, for Maduro, its legitimate President, and for the popular, military, and police forces.
“This will not only be a statement from our country’s leadership, but from all our people in support of Venezuela and against all the aggressions you are facing,” said Morales Ojeda, who specified that, upon completion of the signature process, they will send the books to the Venezuelan President, and assured him with certainty that “millions of Cubans will endorse them.”
The signature collection will also continue the support of mass and social organizations, and Cuban civil society in general, for the struggle waged by the brotherly Venezuelan people against the growing hostility of the empire, which has used all available resources in unconventional warfare.
In order to properly organize this event, books will be kept open in all workplaces, student centers, and communities starting this Wednesday. Workers, farmers, high school and college students, combatants, intellectuals and artists, athletes, and others will participate in the process. On the 30th, at the conclusion of the process, there will be mass events, songs, and other activities in support of our Venezuelan brothers and sisters.
