Havana, September 28 (RHC)– Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today headed the last day and closing ceremony of the 10th Congress of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) at the Havana Convention Palace.
Accompanying the Cuban leader are Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister, Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, national coordinator of the CDRs, and as special guest José Ramón Machado Ventura, Commander of the Rebel Army.
The work of the largest mass organization in the country is discussed: its functioning, the need to update and strengthen it, the incorporation of more young people in its leadership, and the importance of its work in every community in Cuba.
The CDRs are celebrating their 63rd anniversary this Thursday, immersed in a process of revitalization of their structures and adaptation to the new times.
Since their foundation, the Committees have been active in the fight against crime, illegalities, corruption, drugs and social indiscipline, and to face these scourges, they have formed vigilance detachments in the communities.(Source:PL)

De paradigma de la solidaridad y la cooperación calificó las relaciones chino-cubanas el embajador del país asiático, Ma Hui, en el acto por el aniversario 74 de la fundación de la República Popular China, y el 63 del establecimiento de relaciones diplomáticas bilaterales momento especial en el que estuvo presente el vice primer ministro y ministro del Comercio Exterior y la Inversión Extranjera, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz.

El embajador chino resaltó los intercambios de alto nivel que se han producido desde noviembre último, cuando el Primer Secretario del Comité Central del Partido y Presidente cubano, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, realizó una exitosa visita a la nación hermana.

China y Cuba vienen ampliando la cooperación económica y los proyectos en áreas relacionadas con la energía, la información, la agricultura y el turismo,  mencionó el diplomático,  quien señaló que, de cara al futuro, están dispuestos a trabajar de conjunto para traducir los consensos políticos en más frutos de cooperación y beneficios mutuos.

 

DOS PUEBLOS UNIDOS

Respeto y admiración «por lo que ustedes hacen y representan, por su espíritu de lucha», también transmitieron al pueblo cubano integrantes de una delegación china de recorrido por Matanzas, donde la vicegobernadora, Marieta Poey Zamora, y otros funcionarios, les proporcionaron una amplia información sobre la provincia.

Ouyang Zehua, vicepresidente de la Conferencia Consultiva Política del Pueblo Chino de Sichuan y director general de la Oficina de Regulación y Supervisión Financiera de esa provincia, expresó el apoyo y compromiso con la Revolución Cubana, y condenó el injusto bloqueo norteamericano contra la Isla. Mientras exista el imperio, debemos promover cada vez más la alianza entre nuestros pueblos, subrayó.

Havana, Sept 24 (RHC) The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, returned to the country today after participating in the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York City, United States.
In a meeting held the day before with Cuban diplomats, Díaz-Canel highlighted that the work carried out at the United Nations ratified the success of the recently concluded Summit of Heads of State and Government of the G77 in Havana, and constituted once again a support for the fight of Cuba against the blockade and its inclusion on the list of states supposedly sponsoring terrorism.
In his interventions in the General Assembly, the head of State denounced the impact of unilateral restrictions on the development and fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda in the countries of the South.
He described the global context as critical for developing nations, affected by an unjust economic order that perpetuates inequalities and poverty. He warned that even before the Covid-19 pandemic, the world had already deviated from the path towards achieving the 2030 Agenda.
During an intense week of activities within the framework of the General Assembly, where he raised his voice for his country and for the G77, the Cuban head of state met with his Kenyan counterpart, William Ruto, and with representatives of Vietnam and St. Lucia.
He also held meetings with the vice president of Uganda, Jessica Alupo, and of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune; as well as with the designated head of COP28, Sultan Al Jaber, and the Minister of Tourism of Saudi Arabia, Ahmed bin Aqeel Alkhateeb.
Likewise, he spoke with representatives of sectors such as science, culture, public health, businessmen and Cuban emigrants.
The day before, Díaz-Canel participated in a solidarity meeting with Cuba and Venezuela, hosted by the Society for Ethical Culture of New York, in which he thanked the expressions of solidarity received. (Source: PL)

Raul Castro attends G77+China Summit in Havana

Havana, Sep 15 (Prensa Latina) The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Raul Castro, today attended the opening day of the G77+China Summit, which was inaugurated at the Convention Center in Havana by President, Miguel Díaz Canel Bermúdez, chair of the G77+China.

The meeting is being attended by more than a hundred delegations from member countries of the bloc and functionaries from international organizations, who will discuss political and economic issues of relevance for developing nations.

In addition to the words of the President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, the country holding this year’s temporary presidency of the association, the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, who also took the floor, followed by the general debate.

The participants are expected to follow up on the group’s historical demands, particularly in relation to the new international economic order, the reform of the world financial architecture, the rejection of unilateral coercive measures, situations of concentration of wealth and the burden of foreign debt. The G77+China is the most diverse consultation group in the multilateral sphere, with 134 member states representing two-thirds of the membership of the United Nations and 80 percent of the world’s population.
