Some news agencies and other major Western media feed on the information that is produced, even if it is stained with blood – or that is never produced, but rather is invented – about the war like confrontation in Ukraine.
The daily examples of fake news, more than anything, take credit away from the media that publish it, and the journalists who write it.
But they also feed the Western leaders who are waiting for them, in their eagerness to discredit Russia and justify the lengthening of a conflict that should already have ended, in peace and with mutual guarantees, without interference or political games to surround Moscow.
The international community must “really” oppose the greed of the United States military complex that sells weapons, no matter what use is made of them, both for its citizens to kill each other and to fuel wars across the seas, as is the case today in Ukraine or in other Middle Eastern nations.
There are too many actions by the US governments, since the very emergence of that country and during its establishment as an empire, causing millions of deaths, mutilations and injuries, destruction of States, torture, economic sanctions as an ultimatum to suffocate entire populations, among other actions. A hurricane in a few hours destroys us faster than we can recover, that is a first logic that must be had; but that cannot defeat us, what we have to do is unite efforts, unite talents, unite arms, unite disposition.
People are also shocked, we have to get out of that lethargy of affectation and start working, and then we see how with that work we begin to advance day by day, ripping pieces out of the affectation.
It must be said that after five days Mayabeque is practically recovered, Havana is quite recovered; the Isle of Youth was recovered. The provinces of Artemisa and Pinar del Río, where the damage was greatest, remain more complicated. To the same extent that the others are finishing, more forces are coming here; but what has been done is heroic.
I know that this causes a lot of discomfort in people because in addition to the accumulated situation that we already had in life, it lasts, then comes another group of affectations that cause damage, harden daily life; but here we have had cyclones in which, to recover, we have taken 19 or 20 days. There is an important part of the provinces that have already recovered in five days; I am convinced that with intense work next week this is going to have another face, and then, the next week, we will be almost fully recovered, fundamentally in electricity, communications and we will start with housing. Housing will always take us longer; but when one sees that there is the capacity for mobilization, Continue reading The hurricane cannot defeat us

Cuban Women of the African Diaspora: Inspirations for Change
A series of films by Juanamaria Cordones-Cook, presenting some of the most distinguished Cuban women of the African Diaspora. Every Sunday evening in October at 8 pm Eastern.
Poets Nancy Morejón and Georgina Herrera, author and researcher Gisela Arandia, graphic artist Belkys Ayón and playwright and director Fátima Patterson, — all are conscious explorers of the experience of Afro-descendiente women of Cuba.
We are providing a space for Cuban women of the African diaspora to speak for themselves. Because of the US blockade of Cuba, which extends to platforms like Zoom, we are unable to have our Cuban sisters participate directly in meetings and conferences. Through these films, made by JuanaMaria Cordones-Cook, a scholar of the amazing surge of Afro-Cuban creativity made possible by the Cuban Revolution, we can share their truths and their creativity with US audiences.
