Cuba must be respected

250,000 Havana residents, representing the Cuban people, gathered at the Anti-Imperialist Tribune to condemn the manipulated and unjust accusation against Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, Leader of the Revolution, and to support the Declaration of the Revolutionary Government.
Gerardo Hernández Nordelo, Hero of the Republic of Cuba, delivered the message sent by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the solidarity of our people and friends around the world, and assured them that as long as he lives, he will continue to march at the forefront of our people, defending the Revolution and standing firm.

In that regard, Hernández Nordelo declared that the imperialists, “do not forgive us for the humility they cannot destroy. Against our high morale, they incite all kinds of plans, always allied with lies and terrorism against this land.”
The Cuban combatant recalled the recent provocations by the United States Secretary of State on May 20th, whose speech—far from having the intended effect—”has generated contempt and indignation among cowards.” In response to these maneuvers, he affirmed that, from our National Apostle, whom we paid tribute to just hours ago on the 131st anniversary of his day of combat, we learned that “monster” is the precise definition to reflect what is orchestrated within the bowels of the empire.
Hernández Nordelo, one of the Five Heroes imprisoned by the empire, bluntly exposed the truth known from those northern lands and recalled that between 1994 and 1996 Cuba suffered more than 25 serious violations of its airspace, and that our country publicly and officially warned the United States, even sending direct messages to the then-president.

“Therefore, Cuba’s response to the repeated aggression against its airspace constituted an act of legitimate self-defense.” It is an inalienable right of every nation and an obligation to ensure the safety of its citizens.
He questioned the hypocrisy of the empire: “Would the United States allow its airspace to be violated in a hostile and provocative manner? Of course not. They themselves would act with the use of force.”
The national coordinator of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution was emphatic when referring to the revolutionary leader, Raúl Castro: “The young man who jumped the Moncada Barracks without fear of death. The Granma expeditionary, the one who went to fight against an army with barely seven men, the one who founded the Second Eastern Front and changed the lives of the peasants. Fidel’s most faithful follower, capable of serving, demanding, and loving.”

Nordelo closed his remarks with the declaration of principles that Cuba reaffirms its commitment to peace, “and its firm determination to exercise the inalienable right to legitimate self-defense. No one will take that right from us.”
“The Cuban people reaffirm their unwavering determination to defend the Homeland and the Revolution, and with the utmost strength ratify their absolute and firm command of Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, as declared by the Revolutionary Government and as is being demonstrated in every corner of the nation.”
During the commemoration of the revolutionary leader’s 95th birthday, attendees reaffirmed that neither threats, nor blockade, nor energy embargo, nor false accusations will be able to break the will of an entire people in defense of their Revolution.

Cuba denounces that USAID allocated more than $120 million dollars to destabilize the country

The U.S. government has backed financially and in large amounts, several initiatives both internal and external to Cuba, all with the objective of dismantling the Cuban Revolution. Photo: Hispan TV

USAID is in the middle of an investigation for possible corruption.

Cuba’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez, revealed on Tuesday the millionaire amount that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) allocated to promote a government transition on the island.

Through his account in X, the Cuban Foreign Minister indicated that USAID used more than 120 million dollars to support several projects with the aim of destabilizing the Caribbean island.

The Foreign Minister repudiated the constant pressure and economic exhaustion of the United States towards the Cuban population, but insisted that they will not succeed in annihilating the Revolution.

Over the course of the month, both Rodriguez and Miguel Diaz-Canel, the Cuban president, have denounced in X the USAID support to subversive activities. According to them, the agency allocated 61 million dollars between 2001 and 2006 to 142 projects and illicit actions directed against the island.

Currently, USAID is in the midst of a possible corruption investigation, after the new administration of Donald Trump in the United States decided to freeze funding for the agency.

For decades, the U.S. government has supported financially and in large amounts, various initiatives both internal and external to Cuba, all with the goal of dismantling the Cuban Revolution.

In the face of the imperialist onslaught, Cuba will win

U.S. President Donald Trump is lashing out against Cuba from day one and without any pretext. The decision to reinstate the harsh measures of economic warfare against Cuba, which his predecessor eliminated only days before, is a demonstration of the aggressiveness of U.S. imperialism against the sovereignty, peace and welfare of the Cuban population. Among them is the inclusion of our country, once again, in the arbitrary list of States that allegedly sponsor terrorism, a designation that evidences an absolute disregard for the truth.
This is not surprising. The statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on January 14 already warned: “that the government of that country could reverse in the future the measures adopted today, as has happened on other occasions and as a sign of the lack of legitimacy, ethics, consistency and reason of its conduct against Cuba”. He also affirmed that “U.S. politicians do not usually stop to find justification…”. This is how they govern in that country.
Trump has interpreted his coming to power as the coronation of an emperor. His ambition includes, just for starters, the conquest of Canada, the usurpation of Greenland, the renaming of the Gulf of Mexico and the dispossession of the Panamanians of their canal. The hegemonic Monroe Doctrine and Manifest Destiny, which were imposed on Latin America and the Caribbean with blood and fire, are the guide of the new government team.
The groups and politicians who have made aggression against Cuba a way of life, have profited for decades from the anti-Cuban business and today share the new president’s drunkenness are associated with him. All of them have a high responsibility in the difficult economic situation of the country and in the increase of the migratory flow from Cuba to the United States.
This new act of aggression by the U.S. government against the Cuban people shows, once again, the true, cruel and merciless objective of these and so many other measures of encirclement and suffocation applied against Cuba for the purpose of domination. It is the reaction of impotence in the face of the inability to bend our will and in the face of the respect, sympathy and support that the Revolution arouses among the peoples of the world.
The economic blockade, its reinforcement and the new aggressive measures will continue to weigh, with a very harmful effect, on our economy, the standard of living, the potential for development and the legitimate dreams of justice and well-being of the Cuban people, as has been the case in recent years.
They will not divert us from the socialist course, from the determination to recover the economy, to promote the greatest solidarity, creativity, talent, spirit of work, and to defend freedom, independence, sovereignty and the privilege of building a future without foreign interference as an impregnable bastion.
The Cuban people are grateful for the many expressions of support and solidarity received from all over the world, from governments, Cubans living abroad, parliaments, political, religious and social organizations and political figures from the United States and other countries.
No one should be deceived. The Cuban people expressed themselves with clear determination and strength in the march of December 20. Here the conviction prevails that CUBA WILL WIN.
HOMELAND OR DEATH, WE WILL WIN.

Categorical rejection of unfounded allegations of election meddling in the USA

Articles in the Miami Herald newspaper and others in the McClatchy press organization, to which this newspaper belongs, began a new slanderous campaign against Cuba at the end of July, citing anonymous intelligence sources to support the accusation, a common practice that this journalistic organization and its editors are accustomed to when lies are the basis of the report.
The accusation is that Cuba is making efforts to influence local electoral campaigns in the state of Florida in the United States.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs categorically denies the accusation. It also deplores the failure of the U.S. government, its State Department and its intelligence services to disqualify the direct reference to alleged government agencies on whose authority these slanderous articles appear to be based.
The U.S. government cannot cite any evidence or indication, because it does not exist, that Cuba has interfered or is proposing to interfere in its electoral processes, or that it is favoring any politician in the state of Florida or any other state in this country. Any reference to that is absolutely false.
If it were not a completely unfounded accusation on such a serious issue, the statement would be astonishing because it could be interpreted as the U.S. government having done a 180-degree turn and for the first time in more than a century finding it inappropriate to interfere in the electoral processes of other countries.  However, it is not clear from any of the articles whether this administration intends to abandon a practice as illegitimate as it is unacceptable that has long accompanied U.S. foreign policy.
