The aid sent to Cuba by the Mexican government, consisting of food, toiletries, and other supplies, arrived yesterday morning at the port of Havana.
The Mexican Navy ships Papaloapan and Isla Holbox transported the cargo in accordance with the instructions of President Claudia Sheinbaum.
Betsy Díaz Velázquez, Minister of Domestic Trade, thanked the President of Mexico, her government, the beloved Mexican people, and the institutions that made it possible for this aid to reach our people.
She highlighted the participation of the Ministry of the Navy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy, the Office of the Presidency, and all the institutions that collaborated in this shipment.
“At a time when difficulties are being overcome, when the measures imposed by the United States government are being tightened and the attempt to suffocate us is intensifying, this is even more appreciated,” said the Minister.

“We feel accompanied by Mexico, by its humanity, its solidarity, and its brotherhood,” she added.
Díaz Velázquez said that this aid consists of food, cleaning products, and other supplies that will be well received by the people.
This aid reaffirms the Mexican government’s commitment to solidarity with the Cuban people at a time when the US government’s criminal economic, commercial, and financial blockade against the island is intensifying.

Cuba reiterates its solidarity with the brotherly people of Mexico

Cuba condemned, in the strongest terms, the violent raid by the Ecuadorian police on the diplomatic headquarters of Mexico in Quito on April 5, considering it a flagrant violation of International Law, in particular the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, the right to asylum and the sovereignty of that nation.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla’s statement was made at the Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), convened to examine the breach of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, and in which he said that Cuba defends the force of law, not the right to force.
He also pointed out the need for Latin America and the Caribbean to continue to be a Zone of Peace, as proclaimed by the Celac, which met ten years ago in Havana, with the signature of the Heads of State and Government, for which dialogue and negotiation are the only acceptable ways to resolve differences between our nations, in accordance with the principles of International Law and in full compliance with the Charter of the United Nations.
In his speech, the Foreign Minister recalled the message sent by President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, in which he reiterated Cuba’s full solidarity and support to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Secretary Alicia Bárcena, the Government of Mexico and the dear and brotherly Mexican people, in view of the unacceptable violation and outrage of their Embassy in Quito.
Rodríguez Parrilla insisted that Mexico can and will be able to count on Cuba’s disposition and willingness to accompany them in the actions they undertake in the face of this serious transgression of International Law.

Mexico City, Feb 14 (RHC) The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, ratified he will lead an international movement against the blockade of Cuba, which he described as an offense against humanity.
In his press conference at the National Palace, the president said that the United States blockade against Cuba is inhuman, an issue that has to do with an ideological charge that nullifies the right of people to act independently and freely.
López Obrador described that with the incorporation into the list of terrorist countries, promoted by the government of Donald Trump and maintained by Joe Biden, food or medicines cannot reach the Island.
He said that Cubans living in the United States are not allowed to send support. When they put Cuba on a list of terrorist countries, he explained, it means that institutions or embassies cannot even open a bank account because they are on the list of allegedly terrorist countries. It is an offense to the Statue of Liberty, it is an offense to human dignities, he affirmed.
He recalled that in the past, under the government of Barack Obama, actions were carried out that reduced its impact, but later it hardened.
Cuba has helped other countries achieve peace agreements, but it is singled out as such due to pure ideological charges, self-interest, pure electoral politics or to obtain other concessions. We are going to try to persuade the United States to change this policy, he said.
On the other hand, in immigration matters, more and more Americans are speaking out against the practices covered by the Monroe Doctrine, but in electoral situations, other sectors radicalize their speeches by pressing to obtain more votes, they want to seize undocumented workers as pretexts.
