Homage to the Cuban young faces of virtue

Thus congratulated the young people with outstanding merits, Meyvi Estévez Echeverría, second secretary of the Young Communist League (UJC), at the solemn ceremony of awarding decorations of the organization, which was attended by Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic.
Ten outstanding centers throughout the country, in production and services, received the Flag of Honor, which is the highest award given by the National Bureau of the UJC to youth groups from all sectors of the nation.
The Julio Antonio Mella Order was also awarded to eight young people with an exemplary trajectory and with extraordinary merits achieved in study, creative work and in the defense of the interests of the new generations.
During the ceremony, the Abel Santamaría Medal was also awarded to 31 outstanding workers, and the José Antonio Echeverría Medal to nine students with outstanding conditions in study and teaching research, and an exemplary attitude.
The ceremony, which took place a few hours before April 4 -the 62nd anniversary of the UJC and the 63rd of the José Martí Pioneers Organization (OPJM)-, was also attended by Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Party; as well as other members of the Political Bureau, the State and the Government. The Commander of the Rebel Army, José Ramón Machado Ventura, was especially present at the tribute.
